How do you start to rebuild a war-torn village? Challenge 1 - rebuild 1,000 homes in seven months before winter hits with -20C temperatures. Challenge 2 - install water and sanitation facilities in an internally displaced peoples' camp in rebel controlled districts in North Eastern Uganda. From war ravaged Kosovo to remote tribal villages in Uganda, Bart Wassink has worked in the humanitarian aid sector in a diverse range of projects that has seen him provide engineering services to war damaged houses, and managing water and sanitation projects. His wife, Maria worked as a health and education coordinator and assisted in the distribution of construction materials to local contractors, whilst raising a family.
